Founder of legendary New Orleans-based extreme metal band Goatwhore, Sammy Duet is renowned for creating speedy, tight rhythms and insanely brutal riffs. His signature guitar, the LTD SD-2, is based on Sammy’s own ESP Custom Shop model, made famous by its identifiable Random Star shape. The SD-2 offers sturdy neck-thru-body construction at 24.75” scale for fast, easy access to the highest frets. This mahogany body, 3-piece mahogany neck guitar has a bound Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, diamond-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side markers. Components on the LTD SD-2 include a Floyd Rose 1000 SE double-locking tremolo with stainless steel screws. Its sound is driven by a single Seymour Duncan Blackout active pickup, designed to provide the hot, articulate response necessary for modern metal. Includes ESP hardshell case.

This Guitar rules! Incredibly good specs for the price, LTD is simply on top of the game when it comes to quality import guitars. I played all sorts of pointy shapes over the years from Jackson, BC Rich; Ibanez. This Instrument is suprisingly well balanced, no neckdive and very lightweight. A perfect, barebones live guitar. Only things I noticed is the screws fixating the locking nut on the headstock needed some tightening and the fretboard despite being ebony is more on the brownish side. Upper fret access is ok but not as good as on a warrior. The active SD blackout sounds awesome.
