Renowned Czech violin pedagogue Magdaléna Micková, co-author of the popular Škola hry na housle (Violin School), has created a new ''violin primer'' aimed at approximately 5-year-old children beginning to play the violin, drawing on her extensive experience teaching very young students. In collaboration with the teacher, the child first learns how to hold the violin correctly, place fingers on the fingerboard, and use the bow. Only then can the young violinist progress to playing the first pieces from this album.
- As the title suggests, the publication contains simple, several-measure melodies notated in unusually large notes, which are not primarily intended for teaching sight-reading but rather for approximate orientation. The melodies focus on practicing major fingerings in the first position. The author considers the integration of text into the teaching of young violinists crucial. Each piece is accompanied by a nursery rhyme to help children master the rhythm and make the playing experience enjoyable. The pieces are arranged approximately by difficulty, with the more challenging ones requiring legato playing towards the end.
- An invaluable resource is the instructional videos created by Magdaléna Micková with her student Josef Mareček.
