Leather needles for Singer home sewing machines, 5 pcs, strength 90
Needles on the leather and imitation leather. These needles have a special bevel for better penetration into the leather, they do not bend and do not damage the material. The needles do not pierce the material on the leather, but cut out. Piercing causes the leather to be pushed out and damaged.
Singer needles for sewing machines have a color marking of the needle type on the shaft:
Metallic (for metallic threads - without color marking), Quilting (for quilting - purple marking), Universal (universal for all fabrics - red marking), Overlock 14SH (for overlocks - without color marking), Microtex (for microfiber, silk - black marking), Jeans (for denim - blue marking), Leather (for leather and imitation leather - brown marking), Hemstitch (for hemming - without color marking), Embroidery (for embroidery machines - white marking), Stretch (for knitwear - yellow marking) , Overlock 14U (for overlocks - unmarked).
Furthermore, the needles are marked in color, according to the strength of the needle (needle size). The designation 100 corresponds to a needle width of 1 mm. The designations are as follows: 60/08 (without color marking), 70/09 (green marking), 80/12 (orange marking), 90/14 (blue marking), 100/16 (purple marking), 110/18 (yellow marking), 130 / 21 (red marking).
We choose the needle strength with regard to the type of material. The thread must always pass easily through the needle, it must not jam.
- Light and thin materials require thin needles, then we choose thin threads - Thick materials require thicker needles, then we can choose thicker threads
Singer recommends changing the needle after 6 - 8 hours of sewing (sewing hours), this time is recommended and depends on the type of fabric.
